If you’ve never witnessed fall in Michigan, you’re missing God’s great wonder. Peak fall colors Michigan is happening now depending on your location. Last weekend we traveled to Atlanta, Michigan to help my parents winterize their cabin. Fall Color in Michigan

If you’re from the beautiful state of Michigan, you know that the farther up north you are, the faster the leaves change color and fall to the ground. I guess that most of the fall colors in the Upper Penisula are now resting on the grass, but here in Metro Detroit, we haven’t hit our peak fall colors yet. This summer was exceptionally warm for this area. So, our fall color in Michigan is a few weeks behind its normal schedule. I’m not going to complain because I don’t like Michigan winters.

My teen daughter is busy being well a teen so you will not find her as much as my younger daughter on My Imperfect Family. She recently had to have surgery on an ingrown toenail, so my husband had promised to let her dye her hair blue. She was feeling ultra stylish, so I managed to talk her into posing for a fall colors photo shoot. Side note, she managed to dye her skin blue along with her hair. She is still partially blue a week later!

My daughter spent the whole weekend driving me nutty to drive the ATV. She isn’t sixteen yet which gave me a good excuse not to let her drive on our private property. Yes, we always wear our helmets! Safety always first!

Oops, there was too much sun on her face in this fall colors shot. I was jubilant at how the pictures turned out. My best friend will be taking our family photos in a few weeks so watch for those on the blog.

If you’re not a local, I highly suggest planning a visit for peak fall colors Michigan!

Wahlburgers Detroit Michigan

WahlburgersDETROIT, Wahlburgers, Detroit, Michigan, Metro Detroit, things to do, events, Detroit, food, foodie

Wahlburgers recently opened in Detroit. I’ve been waiting for months, excited and impatient. Unfortunately, they forgot to leave My Imperfect Family on the guest list for the grand opening. Can you believe that? I’m just kidding; it would have been amazing, though. So, I grabbed some of my girlfriends and headed downtown to Greektown to check out Wahlburgers!

Do you like the short girl’s view of Wahlburgers? We arrived right at 11 AM. The doors open at 11 AM. There was a short line that already had formed. We waited in line just a few minutes before we were seated.

Being a blogger, as soon as I walked in, I was taking in the decor and the feel of the place. Wahlburgers also had bar seating. The building was two floors, and we sat upstairs. The vibe was very lively and down to earth. I got the feeling this place wanted you comfortable while you were having fun.

I love trying new cocktails. This drink pictured above is the cherry Coke cocktail. It was superb. They also have frozen coffee cocktails. YUMMY! The drinks are a tad pricey.

My friends and I decided to try the appetizers. We went with the onion rings, fries, sweet potato tater tots and the regular tater tots. Each appetizer was about $3.50. Very nicely priced. I can’t eat onions, so I didn’t get to try the onion rings. I LOVED the sweet potato tater tots. They were so fresh and tasty.

You can visit Wahlburgers and not try a hamburger. Boy, I was glad that I did. I think it was the best hamburger that I’ve ever had. The meat was so tender and flavorful. I’m drooling just thinking about it. I think I will give Wahlburgers the award of best burger in Metro Detroit. You will have to try one yourself.

Would I recommend Wahlburgers? Yes, without a doubt. The best burger that I’ve ever had. Just make sure if you don’t like waiting in long lines to get there before opening. This place is definitely a gem in Detroit. I will be back!

Online Grocery Shopping In Michigan

grocery shopping

Grocery shopping is one more thing added to my weekly to-do list. I will admit that I really enjoy it, but sometimes I would love to save time and do other things. So, I have compiled a list of 5 places in Michigan that you can order online and pick-up at your local store. It’s a great way for mom to save a little time.

  1. Sam’s ClubSkip the long lines at Sam’s Club! You can order everything “in-club” and pick it up at member services. You schedule a pickup time that is convenient for you!
  2. Meijer-You can drive thru at Meijer and pick up your online order. Curbside pickup is available at the Canton, Knapp’s Corner, Cascade, Ann Arbor, and Jenison stores. You have the option of walking in the store to pick up your order or using the drive thru.
  3. Busch’s-All of the Busch’s locations offer curbside pickup! You drive up and the staff will deliver your groceries to your car. Locations include both Ann Arbor stores, Carleton, Clinton, Dexter, Farmington Hills, Livonia, Novi, Pickney, Plymouth/Northville, Rochester Hills, Saline, South Lyon, Tecumseh, and the West Bloomfield store.
  4. KrogerIt looks like Kroger is just testing this concept because the only store I could find in Michigan is the Northville store. Hopefully, they will be rolling out more locations soon!
  5. Whole Foods Market– At all of the Michigan locations, Whole Foods Market offers limited online ordering. This is great if you want to swing by and pick up a lunch during your lunch break. Not so great for weekly grocery shopping.

This online grocery shopping thing seems to be a new trend! I think it’s a fabulous idea. Be warned that some of these places might charge a fee to deliver the groceries to your car. It looks the like price is around free to $5 bucks for this convenience. I would have no problem paying $5 bucks to save an hour of my time grocery shopping. I find any kind of shopping fun, so I know I would have just as much fun grocery shopping online as in the store. Plus, double bonus, saving me time!

Have you tried online grocery shopping? What do you think of this idea?
